Mexico Beach- The forgotten coast

Located on the Florida panhandle, Mexico Beach is a community on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico but miles from anything else. As you drive along scenic Highway 98, there are no high rises, nothing to block your view of sea oats and white sand. You may stop for a family of beachgoers crossing the road, but no traffic lights. Park between palm trees, and enjoy.

Our little town boasts a variety of hotels, rental houses and rv parks just right for a weekend, a week, or even longer. During your stay, take part in our swimming, kayaking, fishing, recreational diving or just relaxing. When it comes to suppertime, if you have not caught your own dinner, visit one of our many restaurants, either on the beach or across the street. When you are in Mexico Beach, you are always within walking distance of the water.

Thank you for your interest in Mexico Beach, Florida. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Mexico Beach Community Development Council, Inc. and the community of Mexico Beach, welcome to our little city.

Things to do...

Swimming, shelling, boating, fishing, diving, kayaking, surfing, and parasailing are just some of the outdoor activities our pristine beaches offer. But if you are looking to relax, nothing beats an umbrella, lounge chair and a good book, right on the white sand of Mexico Beach.

Nature lovers will relish the bird watching and aquatic animals. Look for bald eagles in the winter months and loggerhead turtle hatchlings in the late summer. Dolphins dive through waves all year long. Keep your eyes peeled; you never know what you will see!

Explore the shops of Mexico Beach for souvenirs, artwork, antiques and fine clothing.

For the sports enthusiasts, St. Joseph's Bay Country Club, just to the east of Port St. Joe, offers 18 holes of challenging play.  Drop by the Mexico Beach CDC for a complete list of area golf courses.

Every Thursday at noon, CST, there is a regular bridge game at the Mexico Beach Civic Center. You can make reservations to play by calling (850) 648-2447.
